Will you please help us get started with the Celestron?
Maybe I am asking for a overview photo of your vise or etc.
In reference to your excellent photography, excellent and so very descriptive.

Mr. Rupert, Forgot to ask. Was my post on getting started with the Celestron helpful? Did it answer your questions?
More than enough infor and the photos are excellent.

Grepper, Jan or anyone -
Where does the loose sewn cotton buff fit into final final burr removal?
Works for my edges - "I am a happy camper"

Off to the VA for annual cardiology appointment.
Thanks to the VA, wish our "for hire system" was as efficient.

Is the wheel soft and fluffy or stiff?

This is actually my wheel -
https://www.woodcraft.com/products/buffi...6582000b71
No compound, just the buff @ at 1800 RPM
Fellow sharpeners work at 3600 RPM
Our results are the same
One or two very light passes per side does the trick
My thoughts are that Max (Tuffy) may use same buff for the same purpose.

Well, Mr. Rupert, you are nothing if not but persistent about your success with that wheel. I appreciate that. You have now brought it up several times. Thanks for the persistence!
I have a soft buffing wheel. It is layers of cloth, but very fuzzy on the outer surface. Very soft and fuzzy. It does not remove burr.
Before I order this wheel, is it soft and fuzzy or is it rather firm?
Deburring is the one thing that frustrates me. There has got to be a better, faster, more efficient and efficacious method than the way I'm currently doing it. I'm always open for suggestions!
Mr. Rupert, if this is not soft and fuzzy, I'll order it and give it a try. I just hate purchasing stuff that does not work for what I buy it for.

No pressure - if any very very light.
Looking at the wheel (end view) about the 10 AM position. All we want to cover is the cutting edge.

Ok Mr. Rupert, I'll give it another go on my bench grinder this time. I'd love to find a really effective and quick way to remove burrs! I hate burrs! I'm burr intolerant.
Maybe I'll even go wild and try a Scotch Brite belt again.
