Knife Review: Spyderco Sliverax

Nice knife and, as usual, informative and well written review subwoofer! BESS 186. That's seems sharper than most factory edges that you test. Is it our imagination or do American manufacturers, in a general sense, seem to create sharper edges out of the factory than European?

No, the American manufacturers do not create sharper edges, it is only Spyderco who seem to have a particular ability to provide an excellent factory edge. This one was a demo knife at IWA and has been handled a lot (knocked about and the normal lack of care people have) and still this was the result. In fact I've just measured another Spyderco (the one hundred pacer) which I think will have a better average.

OKC and Gerber have the worst factory edges I've come across with one of them measuring over 1500!
