[Video] Sword sharpening with belt grinder
#2
I watched the videos and thank you Mr. Sharpco for posting them. If the idea was to show how to handle a very large knife while sharpening they were interesting. I confess though that I am ruined by electronic edge testing. All this paper and bamboo cutting leave me with nothing. I'm also hard pressed to believe that a polished versus a toothy edge is going to make a difference when smashing through heavy materials. If you want to know if smacking a 2 x 4 with an edge affected the sharpness level then just measure it. Don't show me how it cuts paper (some of the time). I shouldn't be writing on this subject because to me a knife is like a screwdriver. You need different types and sizes to do different jobs. I don't have any four foot long screwdrivers because I've never come across a use for one. Same for swords. If you like to make swords I think that's just fine and interesting. If you've found a good use for your sword then I'd find that very, very interesting.
