I am still shifting gears from over five decades of film photography. I have several well used loupes which served me in many ways from focusing on a ground glass to examining 35mm negatives, slides and proofs. My 4x Schneider loupes cost over a hundred dollars each. Your 10x lighted loupes seem like real bargains. Unlike some items, we do not grow out of good loupes. I find my eyes are growing into them!
I think 10x would be ideal for checking edges, especially in conjunction with a microscope.

ps With my digital camera, my ancient 105mm Micro Nikor lens works very well with manual focus. In fact, auto focus is a nuisance close up. I just move my single point of focus where I want it and hit the plus button several times. It works great, however, I do miss the charm of wearing the loupe around my neck and getting under the focusing cloth. That was photography.
