Sounds like an interesting project Ken. If we understand correctly you're thinking about adapting the Sharp Fast tool jig so that it works in conjunction with your Viel? We assume that if you used your variable speed motor in conjunction with your variable gear ratio lathe that you would have the option of plowing or setting the world speed record and everything in between.
