I am outing myself as the owner of the mystery knives 
I lived in Okinawa Japan for 20 years. I got married there in 1995 and soon after my wife bought a lot of stuff from Tupperware. In those days it was known for selling high quality products.
In addition to the knives, we have 3 German pressure cookers and several stainless steel frying pans we still use regularly.
The link below shows that the knives are still available - be ready for the sticker shock. I just did the yen->dollar calculation at today's rate. The large one goes for $171.00 and the one Grepper sharpened is $116.00.
I guess the price isn't so bad considering she has been using them daily for twenty+ years. Albeit, not nearly as sharp as they are now.
