Thanks guys. Apparently KG is taking time off. It seems that he mentioned some sort of spring loaded device being used in the Australian meat packing plants to straighten edges and we wondered if this might be it. I think that we might just have to give this a try and see what it does.
Thomas - Don't know about deburring edges with this. We've tried pulling the edge through all sorts of materials and contraptions in order to remove burr but with limited success. Most of these methods seem to have removed the burr but usually at significant loss to final sharpness. Just seems to us that burrs don't like to be ripped off of edges.
