Looking at the fascinating photo of the boat axe you posted, I notice that our ancestors made an edge with the burr successfully removed. With the advanced work on burr removal on this exchange, I am hopeful that we may someday catch up with our ancestors!

ps, I really do find your posts fascinating. I just watched a program on the mystery of Chaco Canyon. Those ancient people were truly remarkable, understanding things like 18 1/2 year lunar cycles.
