I can hardly believe I was so late to the party. Maybe I only saw "beaters", and paid no attention.
I noticed an "elegant" one, and couldn't have been more impressed with the material and design for $15-$20.
This knife totally relates to the "Single Bevel" thread too. The strength and geometry probably allow it to perform as intended for an incredibly long time without needing to be sharpened.
As is, it is Seriously utilitarian.
I have always made -pressed cardboard/electrical tape/duct tape- sheaths for chisels, and they work well for splicer knives too.
