Interesting that you should say that. I have done that when I have a feeling that there is remaining burr. I've found it works but have always wondered how effective it is. Could it be used instead of stropping? Is there a risk of just smashing the burr against the edge? Can you dull the edge with hardwood?
It's on my list of stuff to try and figure out. If you have experience with that, I'd love to hear it!
