#1
Thank you to all for your support of the Exchange in 2017 but most of all for just being a great bunch of guys (and the occasional gal). We have much to look forward to in 2018. A Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year to you too Mr. EOU!  And Happy New Year to all, too.

The BESS Exchange began in March 2017 and has come a long way since then.  2018 should be a very interesting year.  Thanks to everybody for your contributions and making the Exchange such a cool and friendly place to be. Smile

Happy new year.
i am Hans from Hamburg (Germany) and interested in everything around knifes and tool sharpening. As an amateur i'm a steady learner and will read the posts most of the time. At the moment i am beginning to orchestrate+consolidate the sharpening process.
My first sharpening works for colleagues and family members were on a wicked edge now on a Tormek T-8 (SG/SJ-250, SUN 800) and led to injuries without exception.
I'm looking forward to learn more about knife/tool sharpening and quality assurance.
happy new year everybody

Welcome to the forum, and Happy New Year Mr. Hans!

"... led to injuries without exception".  Funny! Big Grin

If you hang around here much, no doubt your blades will get even sharper!

2017 has been a bad year for me and my wife. I am looking very much forward to 2018 - and wish you all a very good 2018!

We have minus 23 centigrades here now and about half a meter of snow. The record here is minus 52 centigrades and 2 meter snow - but the climate warming is visble here. For 20 years ago it was normal temperature minus 30 centigrades and 1 meter snow. The last years we have less then half a meter snow and around minus 15 centigrades. We have not been below minus 35 centigrades during the last 10 years.

From here in Louisiana our thoughts and best wishes are with you and yours for 2018 and beyond.

Welcome, Hans.

I continue to learn much from this exchange, and hope you will, also.

Several of us are longtime Tormek users. I have used a Tormek since 2009. Do not hesitate to ask questions; you are among friends.
