Tricking the BESS Tester (without meaning to)

Thanks for doing our work for us Grepper. Further to off-center placement of the  ATF and it's tendency  sometimes to rack up a reading before the measurement process has begun. Yes, the fulcrum plate in these instances has rubbed on the ATF and caused a reading of 5 - 10 grams to appear on the display. Unless you anticipate that the edge that you will be measuring will be testing under 5 - 10 grams then this will have no bearing on the final result. If it bothers you (it bothers me) then simply zero the unit out and begin again. The fulcrum plate will have centered the ATF for you so there shouldn't be a reoccurrence of the problem.
