RE: ceramic stones - EOU - 12-05-2017 ...and welcome to you Me2 and to your excellent post. Information and the friendly exchange of ideas rule here so make yourself at home! RE: ceramic stones - Bobbo - 12-08-2017 My membership name says Jr. by it and that couldn't be more true when it comes to my sharpening skills. I still find this stuff very interesting. I purchased a ceramic stone a couple of years ago and some rods after that. I never really thought about what i was buying. Now I know what I have. I still don't know how to use either of them well but that's okay. At least I know what I got now. Thank you to you guys for taking the time to explain it. RE: ceramic stones - Reich Precision - 12-11-2017 The best tip I can give you would be "The Sharpie Trick". Just use a marker to color your edge, so you can see where your blade is touching the stone/ rods. I've been sharpening forever, but I still use it on occasion. It's good to know when/where you're hitting the edge. |
